HOBY STUDENTS VOLUNTEER AT MISSISSIPPI FOOD NETWORK Students participating in the 2009 Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Program (HOBY) program this year spent a couple of hours volunteering at Mississippi Food Network on Saturday, May 30. Each year during the Summer Leadership Seminar approximately 40 students and their leaders help sort and pack food boxes. SEE PICTURES AND MORE>>>>> WE CARE COMMUNITY SERVICES AND MISSISSIPPI FOOD NETWORK PARTICIPATE IN SUMMER FEEDING PROGRAM This summer 100 children attending the We Care Community Services summer enrichment program and the youth program at the Jackson Street Community Center are receiving a nutritious lunch each day through the summer feeding program. MORE>>>>> NALC FOOD DRIVE HELPS PROVIDE FOOD FOR NEEDY FAMILIES Our thanks to the local National Association of Letter Carriers for sponsoring their annual food drive held on May 9, 2009. This year they helped raise 15,000+ pounds of food to help feed hungry Mississippians.
YOUTH GROUP PROVIDES VOLUNTEER HOURS DURING GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH CONFERENCE Youth from the Southeast spent part of their time at the conference volunteering at Mississippi Food Network. They youth helped stock the self-serve area for member agencies with food donated through the NALC Food Drive held in May. Despite the unseasonably hot temperatures, they enjoyed themselves and did a great job.
