There are a number of ways that individuals, churches, organizations, and corporations can partner with Mississippi Food Network to help in our fight against hunger.
Mississippi Food Network is not accepting volunteers at this time due to COVID-19.
Mississippi Food Network could not do its job well without the help of volunteers. If it weren’t for such friends, tackling hunger in our state would be a more daunting task. But because of volunteers, we’re able to get more done, at less cost. We have volunteer opportunities during the week and Volunteer Saturdays.
To help us provide you with a great volunteer opportunity, effective immediately, if you are interested in Volunteering with Mississippi Food Network, the first step you MUST take is to complete a Volunteer Application through Galaxy Digital, our online volunteer scheduler. Once you are in our system, you will receive all our requests and alerts for volunteer help and will be eligible to volunteer. * Please review our Volunteer Policy before attending any volunteer activities. If you are a group leader, please share the information with your group.
Please note, there are times we have a limited number of volunteer opportunities and those signed up through Galaxy Digital will receive first preference, especially on Volunteer Saturday.
To schedule as an individual or group please click on the link below and complete the application:
Once you sign up, download the volunteer app for your phone below – this is how you will sign in to volunteer!! Click on the picture for the app.

2020 Volunteer Saturday dates and time:
- September 12, 2020
- October 10, 2020
- November 14, 2020
- December 12, 2020
Please wear appropriate clothing for a warehouse setting with limited heat in the winter and no air conditioning in the summer. Please wear closed-toe shoes, and we suggest layering your clothes, especially during the cold months.
Food drives help keep the food bank stocked year round with shelf stable items like canned meat, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned soups and peanut butter. Coordinating a food drive can be an exciting opportunity for your local business, school, church, or club. If your organization would like to host a food drive, please contact Stacey Cain at 601-973-7089 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Every $1 donated provides six meals to hungry Mississippians, and 97 cents of every dollar goes to our programs. Please consider not just a one-time donation, but signing up for our monthly giving program.
There are other ways to give:
- Shop at Kroger. When shopping at Kroger Stores, make a donation to MFN by registering your Kroger card with the Community Rewards Program (www.kroger.com/account/enrollCommunityRewardsNow/) or through the scan card program found at all registers.
- Shop Amazon Smile. It’s just like “regular” shopping at Amazon.com, but .05 percent of your purchase can be designated for MFN. Sign up to support Mississippi Food Network today (smile.amazon.com).
Mississippi Food Network welcomes donations of food and personal care items from groceries, food manufacturers, food brokers and other related businesses. If you are interested in making a corporate donation, please call Mack Matthews at email@example.com or 601-353-7215.
